During my first semester in Orthoptics, I noticed my classmates were struggling to learn the extraocular muscles and their actions. I decided to compile my personal ‘memory’ tricks used during Optometry and sent the PDF to my Dad for feedback on whether it was simple enough for anyone to understand. His response was, “Wow! This is really fantastic, V. As you expand into book form...”. I had not thought of a book until this suggestion. The chapters included are the most common skills & topics students struggle with within Optometry & Orthoptics and the aim is to simplify these in an easy-to-read, fun & colourful way.
Upon completion of this book, I decided to combine both names specifically for the email address, hence the name 'Oporthics' (Optometry/Orthoptics).
